- I was traveling from Los Angeles to Portland solo for a work show. I had never drove past the northern California boarder and was excited to be able to make the journey all the way up. I took the long route, I-5 didn’t make the cut. Two lane highways, no rush, nothing but me and the drive. I decided to detour even further north-east than planned just to see what was the deal with Crater Lake, probably one of my best moves on that trip. I had got there around 9am and was able to see shades of blue I had never witnessed in nature before.
